It was built using the Legal Brain 1.0 AI platform that is specialized in the legal domain. The first edition offers features to support complex legal research tasks.

■ Background and Purpose of Development

　The labor shortage has become more serious in corporate legal departments and law firms in recent years, and in a November 2024 survey,¹ 54.5% of legal personnel cited the labor shortage and 52.7% cited the large volume of work as issues. In particular, legal research is a time-consuming daily task that requires cross-sectional research on a variety of information, including laws, regulations, guidelines, precedents and books. It is therefore a great burden. This kind of research requires considerable expertise and time. It affects other important operations and it causes a labor shortage.
　In response to this situation, many corporations and law firms have introduced legal technology. The Company announced its Legal Brain vision in 2023 to explain its special efforts to combine generative AI and legal data. The Company is now launching Legal Brain Agent which is built using the Legal Brain 1.0 AI platform specialized in the legal domain. Legal Brain Agent performs tasks just like a real person in charge of legal affairs. Its goal is to assist lawyers and legal staff and provide an innovative solution to the labor shortage, a common issue in this industry.

The data is not simply stored but organized and associated to help AI accurately understand the relationships between data from multiple data sources, resulting in efficient, cross-sectional research.
