LEGAL BRAIN

Oct 10 2025

Bengo4.com, Inc. (Minato-ku, Tokyo; Taichiro Motoe, Representative Director, President and CEO, Lawyer; hereinafter, the “Company”) is pleased to announce the launch of a demonstration test aimed at bringing innovation to legal affairs. The test will be run in collaboration with Anderson Mori & Tomotsune (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; hereinafter, “AMT”) and Mirai Translate, Inc. (Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; Daisuke Torii, President and Representative Director; hereinafter, “Mirai Translate”).

This demonstration testing verifies the effectiveness of multi-agent collaboration by utilizing Model Context Protocol (MCP), a standard protocol that connects AI agents. This is the first time in Japan that AI with a specific specializing is being linked with general-purpose chat-based AI to verify practical usefulness in legal practice*.

■ Background: The first step in the legal field toward a multi-agent era where AI agents collaborate

In recent years, a number of AI agents that perform tasks autonomously have appeared, likely heralding a multi-agent era when multiple agents work together to perform a single task. However, there are still relatively few concrete examples of collaboration, especially practical examples in specialized fields. In the past, legal practice had to use different AI services separately for different purposes, such as general research, legal research, and writing documents.

This posed a problem, as each service had a different interface, meaning that the same context had to be re-entered as a prompt each time, thus breaking up the user experience.

Now, AMT, Mirai Translate, and Bengo4.com are working together to demonstrate multi-agent operation and presenting a practical model case of AI collaboration in the legal field.

■ Overview: Linking general-purpose chat-based AI with AI specialized in legal affairs to verify the effectiveness of multi-agent collaboration in legal practice with secure handling of confidential information

This demonstration testing will use MCP to link a secure general-purpose chat-based AI agent developed by Mirai Translate with the Company’s AI agent Legal Brain Agent that specializes in legal affairs to verify whether the user experience of actual legal work can be improved and productivity dramatically improved. AMT is responsible for providing legal knowledge and verifying productivity improvements in practical scenarios, so this is an initiative that pioneers a way to use AI to perform highly confidential tasks that were previously treated with caution when it comes to external use. This initiative is expected to become a standard model for secure AI operations in the legal industry.

[About the demonstration testing]

1. Improved experiences through seamless AI collaboration

The service links the secure general-purpose chat-based AI agent developed by Mirai Translate with Bengo4.com’s AI agent Legal Brain Agent, which specializes in legal affairs. It allows users to call the AI specialized in legal affairs from the general-purpose chat-based AI to get expert answers. The service verifies the convenience of offering users everything from answers to general questions to advanced legal research through a single general-purpose chat-based AI agent without having to switch between multiple AI tools.

2. Verifying the effectiveness of linking general-purpose and specialized AI

Authentication and permission settings as well as scope of responsibility for output are defined in the process of inter-AI collaboration, while the security of confidential information is ensured by encrypting communication paths and other measures. Verifying these functions allows the companies to evaluate the feasibility of an environment where AI can be safely and efficiently utilized for highly confidential legal tasks for which external use has conventionally been avoided.
