■ Background of the introduction: Overwhelming convenience verified in a trial

AMT has examined many different tools, positioning the improvement of the quality of legal services and the efficiency of its business using state-of-the-art technologies as an important business challenge. As part of its examination of these efforts, they experimented with a general-purpose large language model (LLM) for legal research and objectively confirmed the high degree of usefulness and the practicality of Legal Brain Agent during trial use. This is why AMT has introduced Legal Brain Agent.

In this trial, the high accuracy and reliability of the answers provided by Legal Brain Agent were valued particularly highly, as this is an essential requirement in legal practice.

Legal Brain Agent only generates answers based on highly reliable sources of data, such as laws, regulations, precedents, guidelines, and specialized books. This minimizes the occurrence of hallucinations which were an issue with general-purpose LLMs to provide output that relies on supporting literature.

Legal Brain Agent allows users to instantly track down the documents and parts of documents that the AI’s answers are based, making it easy to verify the accuracy of the data. This high reliability led to AMT determining that Legal Brain Agent would have sufficient utility as a research tool for professional use.

■ Future outlook: Moving forward to next-generation workstyles through multi-agent collaboration

AMT’s introduction of Legal Brain Agent represents a new standard for the use of AI in legal practice. At the same time, we are conducting a demonstration test of the first multi-agent collaboration in legal practice in Japan in cooperation with AMT and Mirai Translate, Inc. (hereinafter “Mirai Translate”), as announced previously. Going forward, we will migrate this collaboration to a seamless use environment using an AI platform provided by Mirai Translate in light of the results of the demonstration test.
